Welcome to the course in computer security. The goal of the course is to give you a basic overview in the issues of computer and network security. This includes the topics of reliability, confidentiality, and error recovery as well as the traditional "break-in protection" The instructor for the course is Roland Parviainen.
The course will be taught in English. The course book is Security in Computing by Charles P. Pfleeger. Additional course material will be distributed later.
There will be a non-compulsory lab that will give bonus points for the exam, instructions will be up by the second lecture.

Today's lecture, 9/4 10.15, is cancelled (or really just moved forward) due to me beeing ill. Check the lecture plan for the new dates of the rest of the lectures. (Note: this should also mean that I have time now to finish the lab instructions finally :-)
